Last Saturday, I went out to dinner with members of the experiment. It was hard to make friends because of this situation, but over dinner we talked about ourselves, our classes, and our future, and I felt like I was able to become intimate with new people for the first time since I entered school. It's not easy in this situation, but I would like to go on a trip with them someday.
Thoughts on reading Pandemic written by Yuval Noah Harari
Today I will talk about ''PANDEMIC'' written by Yuval Noah Harari, who is a historian and author of such famous book as ''Homodeus'' and ''Sapiens: A brief History of Humankind''. This book describes his views on how humanity should confront the coronavirus crisis and what changes will emerge in the world afterward. There are two things in this book that particularly impressed me . First, he strongly said that globalization is key to solve this Problem. Globalization has been seen as a part of the cause of Coronavirus pandemic, and people often claim that de-globalization is only right plan to make this situation better. However, he said that such pandemics has occurred since long before globalization, and if anything, global cooperation has minimized the damage of epidemics like AIDS and Ebola in recent years.
